Finchley College is a specialized construction institution devoted to training the engineers and managers of tomorrow. Over the past 30 years, we've trained well over 1200 engineers and managers, who are now employed throughout the UK and abroad. We offer nationally and internationally recognized qualifications enabling our learners to apply for CSCS gold engineer surveyor or black manager cards. Notably, some of our graduates have utilized their credentials to secure residency permits and embark on new careers and lives abroad.

Some of our learners are current junior or senior engineers seeking retraining and certification to qualify for gold CSCS cards. However, the majority are newcomers to the industry. We aim to facilitate a seamless transition for them, from their current roles to becoming proficient, self-assured, and high-quality engineers of tomorrow.

We understand that transitioning from one career to another can be challenging, but we're committed to supporting you every step of the way toward achieving your aspirations. Our flexible course offerings, available on weekends and weekdays, accommodate learners' existing commitments and levels of experience, ensuring they can undergo training without sacrificing income. We also provide training in London, Manchester as well as distance learning.

Earning potential of a setting out or a site engineer: From £150 to £250 per day. Invest in yourself and train now. Today's surveying instruments are easy to learn and use.

Our courses 

​

Graduate training program:  

We offer graduates intensive 5 day training in using Total Stations and GNSS to be able to start work immediately as junior engineers and succeed in job interviews.

​

Beginner to advanced level: 

Full training in all aspects of engineering, surveying to work as a junior engineer including a level 3 Diploma in Engineering surveying. 

​

Beginner to enhanced level: 

Comprehensive training in engineering, surveying, AutoCAD, Revit, Building Information Modelling, First Aid at work, Site engineering techniques, quality assurance and control, SSSTS health and safety short course. This course is ideal for complete beginner aiming for a change of career to a professional site engineer.

ProQual Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying for existing engineers and surveyors

The ideal course  for existing engineers and surveyors to apply for a gold CSCS Engineer Surveyor card. Select from college-based training or remotely from your workplace.

​

We also offer NVQ levels 3 to 7 for site supervisors, site managers, and senior site managers​

​

With Finchley College qualifications you can apply for a gold CSCS engineer surveyor card. Certificates of majority of other training providers are not valid.  Please when approaching training providers request written confirmation that you can apply for a gold CSCS engineer surveyor card before making payment.​

Next Engineering surveying course dates

London: Saturday classes start on the first Saturday of every month, Weekday classes start on the first Monday of every month for 6 days with a repeat the following month.

Manchester: 5 Day course from the 3rd Thursday to the following Tuesday of every other month. You can join us for just the weekend or the full 5 days, with a repeat every other month.
