Junior setting out engineer training
Whast Junior engineers do on site
A junior engineer is competent in setting out construction elements, such as piles, walls, columns, lift shafts, doors, windows, etc, but under supervision of a more experienced engineer.
They can read drawings, understand construction processes and are able to check their's and other's work. They are able to use Total Stations reasonabley well. They can work in large construction sites under supervision of a senior engineer, but can work independently on their own on smaller and simpler projects.
We provide support for our trainees if none exists on site. Simply call or email us with any issues for help and support, or drop in to college after work with prior appointment.
Potentiaol pay rate: £220-£250 p/d
Training duration: A block of 10 consecutive days or 10 days over 5 weekends in two months, followed by one day a month thereafter if required.
Fees: £2295 plus VAT
Certification: ProQual Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying, enabling learners to apply for a gold CSCS engineer surveyor card.

What Site engineers do on site?
A site engineer is fully competent in setting out construction elements, as outlined above plus retaining walls, deep excavations, roads, motorways, retaining walls, without supervision so, they can accept responsibility to most construction projects, both large and small.
They also have more responsibility than a typical setting out engineer, including ordering concrete, reinforcement, checking rebar drawings, bending schedules, laising with the architects, structural engineers, attend progress and planning meetings.
They can read drawings, understand construction processes and are able to check their's and other's work. They are able to use Total Stations very well, albite not necessarily use every program onboard.
We train our learners over a longer training period learning to shine on site and demonstrate full capability and give confidence to the site manaement. We also provide life time support through phone, email or learners visit to college by appointment.

Civil engineer training
What Civil engineers do on site?
A civil engineer does similar works to a site engineer but is also able to design or check integrity of structures, have better mathematical skills than a site engineer, also understand a range of software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM, as well as environmental, financial, and material characteristics specially under loading.
They usually work in large civil engineering projects such as roads, tunnels, complex structures, deep excavations. They attend meetings, can plan work schecules, and within a few years achieve senior engineer or manager status.
We train our civil engineers at levels 6, equivalent to degree and level 7 equivalent to post graduate. However, as these are Diplomas to achieve degree or post graduate status, learners are advised to contact universities to complete porjects.
Training period for this course is over six months.
