What assistant engineers do on-site
Sets up surveying instruments, assists in level surveys, marks points on the ground, assists in as-built surveys, helps engineers carry equipment, looks after them during works, and cleans them at the end of the day.

What junior engineers do on-site
A junior engineer is competent in setting out construction elements, such as piles, walls, columns, lift shafts, doors, and windows, but on complex sites works under the supervision of a more experienced engineer.

What do site engineers do on site?
A site engineer is fully competent in setting out construction elements, as outlined above, as well as retaining walls, deep excavations, roads, and motorways, RC and steel frame structures without supervision, and can accept responsibility for most construction projects, both large and small. They can order concrete, reinforcement and carry out quality control.

🟣 PATHWAY 4: Level 6 Diploma in Civil Engineering (Advanced Career Progression)
What do civil engineers do on-site?
A civil engineer can check design and the integrity of structures, has stronger mathematical skills, can use a range of software, such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM, understands material characteristics, especially under loading, as well as their environmental and financial aspects.
They usually work on large civil engineering projects such as roads, tunnels, complex structures, and deep excavations. They attend meetings, can plan work schedules, and within a few years achieve senior engineer or manager status.
The training period for this course is between four and six months. Depending on experience.
Potentiaol pay rate: £300-£400 p/d
Fees: £2995 + VAT for existing engineers with a minimum of 3 years of experience
£4995 plus VAT for others.

⚫ PATHWAY 5-Existing engineer route
For ProQual Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying to apply for a GOLD CSCS Engineer Surveyor CARD
This training is designed for existing engineers and surveyors who are either unqualified or work with a green laborer CSCS card. It aims to ensure learners have a full understanding of the principles of surveying, levelling, and setting out, and are able to use a wide range of surveying equipment. Please note that the course does not include training in Total Station, setting out, and surveying, as engineers and surveyors should be able to use the equipment unaided on site.
Training duration: Minimum of 4 to 5 days at the college, some home study and one day of site assessment at the workplace.
